Zooey Deschanel Has a Word For The Writer Who Called Her a 'Snobby Cow'

Zooey Deschanel Has a Word For The Writer Who Called Her a 'Snobby Cow'
While Zooey Deschanel's been reliving some childhood fantasies with her new animated film Winnie the Pooh, she's also been dealing with some more adult (though still childish) problems.

On Sunday, a Los Angeles Times editor, Patt Morrison, called Zooey a "snobby cow" in a fiery op-ed piece. Apparently, the writer felt her dig was deserved after Zooey told Morrison's journalist friend at Saturday's BAFTA gala that she didn't want Prince William and Kate Middleton "to see the worst of LA." A vehement Morrison claimed she was judging Downtown L.A. as a whole, though a usually subdued Deschanel has said it was simply about a dirty parking lot.

Deschanel, who's become famous with her sweet disposition, quickly took to her new lifestyle site Hellogiggles.com for a strong rebuttal. "I never spoke to you at [the BAFTA dinner]; in fact, you weren't even there," she wrote. "I am completely and utterly shocked that a professional journalist, whom I have never met, would take a partial quote out of context and use it as the basis for a misguided personal attack."

She clarified how she was just joking that the royal couple may not want to venture out to the lot adjacent to the event's venue. "I thought the juxtaposition of British Royalty and trash was amusing in a high-brow + low brow sort of way," she explained. But evidently, this writer has little room for humor at all.
